Just a Quick Funny

Josh was talking to Beck about being potty trained and he said "We need to potty train you!" Beck responded by saying "Choo Choo!!" (Really loud with a huge smile on his face)

It made me really laugh. I couldn't figure out if he really thought Josh was talking about a train (as in choo choo) or if he was avoiding Josh's comment with something funny.

There's Something Wrong with These Pictures

Back of Shirt
Front of Shirt

This brings me great JOY!!!!

Hogan decided that he wanted to play T-ball this year instead of soccer. Which really was fine until his coach told us his team name. His coach graduated from Texas Tech so our team name was going to be the red raiders. All I could think of was how am going to put a red shirt with the double T, on the front of it, on my sweet little boy. It was really bothering me. I even asked Josh if we could switch teams. So anyway, the coach asked the parents if any of us had a family business or knew of someone who wanted to sponsor the team. One of the dads spoke up and said that he would sponsor the team etc. He took the shirts home to get the sponsor name on the backs and brought them to practice a week later. Much to my surprise the shirts took and interesting turn for the better. I nearly wet my pants when I saw it. The dad who took the shirts home was an Aggie too. He, like me, was having heart burn over the fact that his son was going to be wearing a red double T shirt. So he did the next best thing he could think of. He paid the big bucks to sponsor the team. Then he took all the shirts and had "Gig 'em Aggies" put on the back. I love it. It made it all better for me. So in the future, when any of you get put on a T-ball team and you get a terrible, horrible name. You, too can sponsor the team and have the greatest slogan in the world put on the back. It is worth any amount of money!

Who is the Wisest of Them all?

This morning as a fixed Elisabeth's hair we had the following conversation:

E: "How do they make glass?"
Me: "They melt sand and while it is really hot they poor it out into glass."
E: "Is that how they make plastic?"
Me: "No, I don't think so."
E: "How do they make plastic?"
Me: "I'm not really sure."
E: "Paw paw will know."
Me: "Why do you think Pawpaw will know?"
E: "He's just kind of like that. I don't know he's just my grandpaw."

It made me laugh. Elisabeth truely believes the notion that if they're older they're wiser.

What's in a number?

Tonight at Hogan's baseball practice he got his first baseball jersey. The coach asked him what number he wanted and he said "one". When we were walking away I said "Why did you pick that number?" He replied "bacause I have one Sissy!" This made me laugh so when I got home I told Elisabeth "Guess what number Hogan picked for his jersey?" She says "What" I tell her "one bacause he says he has one Sissy." Then she said something that I had not known she said "yeah I picked three because I have three brothers!" (Josh informed me that she had already told him that.) I thought it was really sweet that they are all so close. Thank you God for such sweet children!!!

Hoppy Easter Everybunny

I always buy the kids coordinating outfits for church I was so sad that Hogan was sick. I still dressed him all up for some pictures but he quickly went back inside and changed. Josh and Hogan rested while the rest of us went to church. This day is better than any other day to me. It is better than shopping, better than, fun at the lake or the beach it is the day that Christ rose. He is alive today and everyday.

Eggstra Colorful

The kids made the prettiest eggs today.

Are you in the kitchen?

Beck thinks that if his feet are in the kitchen that it counts that he is eating in the kitchen. We try to make the kids eat in the kitchen but they have to be reminded often.

Another One Bites the Dust

Well, Elisabeth just asked me if she had fever. I checked and she does. So I think we have one more with the flu. So sad!!! Especially since Easter is tomorrow.......Update.... I started her on tamiflu but I am thinking she was just hot because she never had fever again and is fine today.

Flu Games

My sweet husband and my sweet boy both have the flu. They have been locked up in my bed room playing games and making puzzles. Hogan picked a 1000 piece puzzle to make with his daddy. It will be a really long time before we complete that one. I must say he is really patient and good at making puzzles, though.

50s or 70s

Elisabeth just asked me if I had this song in the 50s when I was a kid "...under cover superstar..." I must really look old!

Another Funny Story

My sister-n-law is a dental hygenist and was talking to a patient. They had started off with small talk about her kids etc. Holley talking about her four kids made the lady think of someone she know with four kids. She proceeds to start telling Holley about this lady at her boyfriends church who has four kids with the strangest names. She says "the oldest is Elisabeth and she spells it with an s, the second one is Hogan..." Holley has to stop her before she can finish to say those are her niece and nephews. The lady was really embarrassed. She tried to make up for it by saying but the mom sings really well. Funny. I had to laugh. I love unique name and named my kids with on purpose and if I ever get to have any more I will do it again.

Is Mary my cousin?

So last week Elisabeth and I were driving in my car and she asked "Mom is Mary my cousin?"
Of course I was confused at first and said "no. Mary is grandmas first name." Then she said "well in the Bible it says that Mary went to talk to her cousin Elizabeth. " It was then clear to me what she was talking about. I reminder her that we know lots of people with the same names and that she just has the same name as Mary's cousin.

What a good girl!!!

I must have been tired last night because I fell asleep at like 9:30 watching TV with the kids. Then, this morning I slept until almost 9:00. Elisabeth came in a woke me up to tell me that she had made all their beds (even the boys), she dressed "the brothers" even changing Becks diaper, and made all the boys a bowl of cereal with milk. It was such a nice surprise. When I got up to look around I noticed she had even cleaned up the boys room. I thought "What a good girl!" Thank you God for such a wonderful little girl!

Are those all your kids?

As most of you know, I like to be out and about. I can't stand to stay in the house all day so most of the time I think of an errand to run just to get of the house. The kids are used to this because they don't know any different. They have all been doing it since they were very little. Hogan went to Target the day we got home from the hospital because I had been in way too long. Needless to say, I alway get comments from people on these adventures. Most people as "are those all your kids?" I always say yes. Then they usually ask if any of them are twins. In the end most of them say something like "I don't know how you do it." or "You must be very busy". The truth is, I am very busy and there are days that I say "what have you gotten yourself into" but I truely don't know what I would do with out these kids. They make me laugh all the time. The make things that seemed hopeless seem so possible. They make me believe in miracles. I have always thought that kids were blessings from God. I just can't figure out why he has blessed me so greatly.

A Beautiful Day

Saturday was such a beautiful day. It was a little cool but the sun was shining and the sky was clear. Josh thought it would be fun to take the kids down to the bayfront to let them ride their bikes. Beck wanted to be pulled on the skate board instead. Josh has him spoiled rotten. We took picnic lunches and ate them on the sea wall over looking the bay. It was so fun. The kids had plenty of space to ride their bikes and just be little kids.

GRRRRRR......

I just can't express how mad I am. Our car got broken into again last night. In the 4 years we have lived hear our cars have been broken into 8 eight times. It is so frustrating. Elisabeth sleeps in the boys room because of it. (PS. We are not going to tell the kids this time.)

I had the best time watching the boys play today. Gates and Beck are the same size even though Gates is 15 mo older. They played sword fight all afternoon. It was really cute. They would wack each other right in the head and everthing. It took me a while to get used to the boys being so rough but now I love to watch and I am so glad they have each other to play with.

From the mouths of babes.....

Tonight Elisabeth envited a friend to church with us. On our way home I heard her and her friend Avery have the funniest conversation.

E: Where do you go to church?

A: Bayshore Bible. But your church is way better.

E: Can you run at your church?

A: Yes

E: We can't. We have too many old people.

A: We only have one old person.

If any of you know my husband, you will know that he loves bungee cords and ratchet straps. If I ever ask him if he needs anything from walmart he always says "get me some ratchet straps." He uses them for everything. One time when we were driving to College Station he used them to strap a couple of TV screens up between the seats so that everyone could see a TV screen. So today I had to show everyone his newest use for a ratchet strap. The other night the wind was so bad it blew a whole section of our fence over. So, since he did not have time to build a new fence in the middle of the week he did the next best thing. He used a ratchet strap. My husband is so smart. The strap stretches from the fence and them wraps around the swing set.

Last night before we went to bed, we went in to check on the kids and found this beautiful piece of art on the wall above Beck's bed as he lay fast asleep underneath. He must not have been tired when he first got in there. Needless to say, he got in big trouble this morning and is having to clean it off himself. Elisabeth and Gates never tried to write on walls but Hogan and Beck enjoy it even when they get in big trouble afterword. Maybe he'll be an artist one day.
