Ike Update

So many of you have been calling, texting and emailing me to see what we are going to do, so I thought I would give everyone a brief update...
Josh is on his way home from Austin...
He is not yet convinced that we should board up and evacuate but we are a step closer to that. By the looks of the lates radar (see picture below) it is going to hit about 100 miles north of us. However, the storm is said to be that wide so we will still get some pretty yucky weather.
With Dolly, I ended up not having electricity for a couple of days.
So...I would like to go ahead and leave so that we would not have to sit in a hot house without electricity.
The storm could easily turn south and hit us directly.
It is predicted to be a category 4 storm by tomorrow.
My vote is to leave and make a fun trip out of it.
I have already packed up the stuff I would take with us.
When else will be get a 4 day weekend. :)
So for now we will wait some more.
Thanks for thinking of us and praying for us.
Maybe we will come see YOU!

Go for it, and have a good vacation.. We are on the wait here too, and the kids school has already been cancelled for Friday... We hope you stay safe, and we pray that you do not have any damage and do not lose electricity!

I say go for it too. We are also waiting to see what is going to happen here. We are pretty far inland, so I think we will be okay. We will pray for you guys and everyone else! Have a good trip if you go!

Praying for you guys - I hate that feeling of uncertainty. If you make it as far as Arlington then you have a place to crash!

Why take the chance? I'd go. Being in a house with no electricity and 4 thank you. I'd love to see y'all, but I think I'm a little further north than you intend to go!;)
