My Crazy Illness!

Ok so some have said that I have a weird disorder...

It started when I was just a little girl.

My sister got me started.

She taught me how to do it and everything.

Once I learned, I loved to do it.

My sister would even have me do hers.

I agreed because I loved it and she did not.

I would even do my doll's clothes.

I love to iron!

...the end result is fabulous.

I iron most everything our children wear.

I do not iron pajamas or underwear...

However, I do iron everything else including the boys undershirts.

I do not think less of the people who do not do this, but I can't quit.

I love the perfectness of a freshly ironed shirt.

I love the lines it makes on the top of the sleeve.

Clothes just look so good all ironed up.

My kids love to put on warm, freshly ironed clothes.

So...I ask...

Do you think I am crazy?

Should I break my compulsive habit?

Do any of you have this habit?

...or one like it?

Well, I certainly don't think you're crazy! I truly do love to vacuum. Have you seen the movie Hairspray? All I can think of is John Travolta dressed as a woman ironing those clothes in her apartment. I'm cracking up just thinking about it.

What kind of iron do you use? I have been most upset with mine. I just replaced the one that broke, and think I made a mistake...

Can't wait to see you Saturday!

Yes I think you're crazy, but I'm not going to tell you that. Instead, I'm going to invite you over to my house and you can iron MY kids' clothes and I'll eat cookies and we can have a great afternoon chat!!! I only think you're crazy because I abhor ironing. I have my own issues involving many things, from putting the empty hangers at the end of the row to folding bath towels one exact, specific way to how the dishwasher should be loaded. I have been known to take out the dishes that Jarred just put in and re-do it because he did it 'wrong'. Feel better? : ) Good! Now load up your crew and head over to my house. I'll have the ironing board all set up and ready.

Well, yes you are crazy. But I don't think it has anything do with the ironing.:) Just kidding. I really dislike ironing so I can't quite understand this compulsion, but I think we all have some of our own compulsions in different areas. I will literally go months without ironing a thing so please don't hate me if you see me and my clothes are wrinkled! Maybe I would like it better if I could do it better.....maybe you could teach me someday! Happy ironing!

I'm PRO IRON : ) I love ironed clothes and also iron everything we wear! I think my Mom is the culprit here she taught us that at a young age! : )

while i don't really love to iron, i love the finished product, so i iron just about everything we own...even jeans.
it's probably somewhere in the middle of favorite chores...above cleaning the bathrooms, but probably under wiping down the kitchen counter tops...i think that's something i may be addicted to. :)

I like to iron, but am not good at it. Ben has banished me from ironing his dress shirts...it wasn't up to his standards. He prefers to iron the boy's shirts for church because he is so much better at it. I keep telling him I won't get any better if I cannot practice. Perhaps that is a chore that will never be for me. When your kids grow up they will come home and still want their Mom to iron their shirts. Everytime we visit Ben's folks his mom always irons his shirt for church. He loves it!

Funny stuff. I don't dislike ironing but definitely don't feel the need to iron everything that's for sure.

I have my own issues...like the fact that there are probably 15 tubes of toothpaste in my house, 60rolls of tp, 30 rolls of paper towels, 4 boxes of stick butter in my freezer, etc. I have a phobia of running out of things! :)

I find travel irons work GREAT on small clothes that are hard to iron. Yes, I share this same obsession. ;o)
